Think Kudus is going to close our purchasing this window with Ings hopefully going to Everton.

We won't be back in for him - unless it's a loan. We've spent two-thirds of the money we earmarked for him in transfer fees - and his wages would be huge on top of the new signings.
Mavrapos is here now. So we've filled the key CB vacancy.
We need a back up striker who, unlike Ings, can actually run more than ten yards without wanting to get an Uber. Ings' legs have gone - especially with the hard-running style we play. He's a fox-in-the-box sub and little else: unless you play two proper strikers upfront.
We need somebody who can come in when Antonio is injured or knackered, as he often is, and do a similar job to Michail.
I'd try to tempt Belotti away from Roma on loan. He's a very different striker to Scamacca, and hasn't fitted in under Mourinho. He'd be a good, hard-running back up for Antonio, and is a better finisher.

I would say so - some media marketing birohead noticed the talk generates traffic, supports some advertising-space price ratio or other…

Why? I mean, just....why?
Makes no sense from a footballing perspective, given that we're claiming to be a progressive, forward-looking club.
I can only assume that, when Moyes was manager at Man U, he promised to "look after" Maguire (and a few others there) if their careers stalled.
Fuck all to do with improving West Ham and all to do with "keeping his word".

He surely only comes in if one of the main CBs leaves....can't believe we'd let our only proper left footed CB (from a future perspective) in Aguerd leave, especially after we scouted and coveted him for so long.
Ogbonna...you could see it. End of career, short deal, bad knee injury and a high octane league. If someone in Italy offered him a 2 years deal you could readily see him wanting to take it.(and he'd have to be super cheap which the Italians love).
Mavropanos obviously a no.
Zouma...again you could see it, but he's been so good start of this season, will be able to be rested more now, and his personality seems key to the squad too, plus it's hard to see who'd pay decent money for him given his injury record.
With that in mind, only Ogbonna for Maguire makes any sense and could be considered strengthening. If somehow Zouma had a gig lined up elsewhere could accept that Maguire might be making us stronger, or at least not weaker.
Aguerd leaving to make way would be a huge disappointment. His best years are all ahead of him, and he's still adapting...but him and Mavropanos could be our CB pairing for the next 5 years easily.
And of course Kehrer could go but as a defensive utility player, he's not replaced by Maguire adequately.
Hopefully the current contingent are hanging around and it's just a load of old clickbait bollox.

Nay, Nay, and thrice Nay. Rejoicing in a great result at Brighton only for the jock cunt to piss on everyone's chips by trying to resurrect his fellow dinosaur. Can we just leave Maguire to rot in the cesspit of Manchester United's third team please?

Mainly because we already have four central defenders and another player who can cover there. So unless we are selling one of them, we surely have no need to spend a big transfer fee and substantial wages on a position we seem to be adequately stocked at.

Bit if a moneyball signing I assume, undervalued due to his memorable cockups for Man U
Can't recall any bad performances for England though? Perhaps it's shrewd business, not many were too excited about getting Lingard or JWP either

Regardless of how good or bad a player is, the first thing he should have is a desire to play for the club whose shirt he wears. He clearly dont want to be a West Ham player so he's best avoided. His choice, be interesting to see what Southgate decides what to do with him if he stayscat MU to keep the bench warm.

I think it happens quite a bit.
If a club wants the player gone, and he's perfectly happy where he is earning more than he would do moving, then the selling club offers what he would be earning if he stays as an incentive to move.

Not sure if this issue where he wanted Man Utd to pay all his wages up is true. Where has another player thats been sold by a club ever made a claim for their potential wages with selling club to have been paid? It just doesn't happen does it?

Very pleased we've swerved this - not because he's a bad player but because : PRICE WAGE ATTITUDE (or my perception of his attitude- no way he's going to run through brick walls for us)
better value out there for sure
It is hard for West Ham to buy a player that ticks all the boxes (age, skiill, value, potential, personality and wanting to play for us) so we always have to compromise. I think there are alternatives that tick more boxes than Harry Mag.
onwards!
